Pokémon Sleep is now available for in specific countries during its initial soft launch phase via both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store as follows:
- Australia
- Canada
- Latin America
- New Zealand
The Pokémon Company has not yet announced when the application will be available in other countries, but they assured that updates on this matter will be provided shortly.
Pokémon Sleep, a sleep-tracking app with Pokémon elements, was created by Select Button and was initially introduced in May 2019.
The objective of the game is to assist its s in developing healthier sleeping patterns by monitoring their sleep duration and presenting them with informative data about their performance. The gamification element involves Pokémon that players can gather based on their sleep patterns. The Pokémon that s collect will be determined by the sleeping styles they prefer, like dozing, snoozing, and slumbering.
To illustrate, Pikachu is capable of falling asleep in different ways such as having a tired expression with droopy ears, curling up while sleeping, or emitting an electrifying aura during its slumber.
The Pokémon Company stated that for the game to function properly, players will need to place their mobile device next to them or near their pillow so that the app can track their sleep. The app is designed to monitor and record various sleep-related activities of the s such as snoring, dozing off, shifting positions in bed, and any other signs of restlessness.
In addition, s have the option to buy a companion accessory known as Pokémon Go Plus+. This device gathers information by detecting movement and sounds even when the is asleep. The Pokémon Go Plus+ add-on will also include Pikachu saying phrases, such as the adorable creature singing a gentle song to calm down the players.
